Make this beautiful Fairy Costume for your doll and she will perform all sorts of magical fairy spells and turn playtime into fun time.
Remember, the 18 inch American Girl doll clothes patterns range will also fit the Australian Girl doll, the Gotz doll and other similar 18 inch dolls.
If your son is interested in learning to sew, that’s fantastic!
When my son was around 7 years old, he started asking me questions about my sewing so I asked if he would like to make something. He was keen to have a go, so we decided on a pair of pyjamas. (I had a short and t-shirt pattern that we could use) We went and chose some dinosaur print knit fabric and then went through all the steps….laying the pattern pieces on the fabric, pinning, cutting out the fabric and he couldn’t wait for the best part – using the sewing machine. He worked very carefully with the machine set on ‘low speed’ and did a fantastic job. As we had a knit fabric, he used a knit stitch and there was no need to over cast the seams. I did have to give a little help when he was attaching the ribbing around the neck but I was super impressed with his effort and those pyjamas were worn with pride for a number of years.
Soon after this, he started playing soccer and cricket and discovered his true passion was sport so he never tried sewing again. But hey, if your son wants to learn to sew, encourage him as he may be the next Ralph Lauren or Christian Dior! My How to Sew Doll Clothes Video Course is perfect for teaching young ones the basics of how to sew and is not just for doll clothes!

Congratulations to Carol Scott, who is the lucky winner of my One Piece Swim Suit Doll Clothes Pattern. I’m sure Carol will enjoy sewing this super swim suit.
Phew! Things have been very busy in my sewing room this week. I have just finished filming the step-by-step instructions for the Fabulous Fairy Costume which will be released in a couple of weeks. Just need to do some editing and then it can be loaded onto the website. It is always really exciting when a new pattern is released.
In the coming months I will also have doll clothes patterns for a really cool Handkerchief Top and Capri Pants set, a handy little beach bag that is really easy to make, and for a bit of fun, I have designed a Witches costume and hat that I know you will all love….it will be perfect for Halloween.
Don’t forget to send in photos of the outfits you have sewn so that I can share them with everyone. I would also like to hear what patterns you would most like to see.

When people come to visit, they often ask me how I manage to keep my sewing/work room so tidy and organised. This is the room where I design my doll clothes patterns, do the filming that supports my patterns, as well as sew and store all the doll clothes and materials for my other online business so it HAS to be tidy and organised!
I have put together a quick film that shows you a couple of things in my work room that I simply couldn’t live without. They are both super easy to put in place and play a huge part in keeping my room tidy and operating efficiently. The best part is, you probably have everything you need lying around at home. Remember, in my second tip you can use just about any small plastic or cardboard container you have available.
Enjoy my video and I’d love to hear what you do to keep your sewing or craft area organised. If you are looking for more tips on how to setup your sewing room or simply how to get started with your own sewing projects my How to Sew Doll Clothes Video Course is a fantastic place to start.

A lot of people tell me that they find it difficult to know how to make doll clothes to fit their various dolls exactly, particularly American Girl Dolls which vary in size because they are stitched and stuffed individually. This can cause problems when making doll clothes for them because the clothes will be tight on some dolls and lose on others. While making clothes to sell through my website Rosie’s Dolls Clothes , I needed to ensure they fit the varying sizes of the American Girl Dolls and so came up with a solution that has worked brilliantly over the years and I am constantly being told my doll clothes fit perfectly.

Time to take a break from designing and sewing Doll Clothes Patterns.
Gosh, I love Easter (and not just because I love chocolate!). It is so much fun making up clues and hiding Easter Eggs in and around the house and garden and then watching by two children excitedly following the clues to find them. Instead of just hiding the eggs in random spots and having the kids run around looking for them, we make up clues like a treasure hunt. When they get a clue right, they find a small egg and this goes on for about 10 clues until finally they finally find their major treasure….a large chocolate bunny. I love this idea as it takes them longer to find the eggs and the fun lasts longer.
This year, Alyssa decided to hide some eggs for her American Girl doll, Jessica, to find. She figured that Jessica would enjoy an Easter Egg hunt just as much as she does. Here are some of the photos that I took of the two girls enjoying their own special Easter Egg Hunt. I hope you enjoy!

This week I’m thrilled to be releasing doll clothes patterns for a summer dressing gown or robe. You can make it up using cotton, satin or towelling, use a contrasting trim or a self trim, the choice is yours depending on the look you want. You may even like to make it with colourful towelling and use it as a beach cover up. Why not do all three, make two different dressing gowns and a beach cover up!
Choose between the American Girl doll clothes patterns size (this pattern will fit other similar 18 inch dolls) or the 18 ½ inch Cabbage Patch Kids doll clothes patterns size. It is perfect for your doll to pop on over her summer nightie and is great for those lazy pyjamas days.
All my doll clothes patterns are downloadable and come with full video instructional support where I show you step-by-step how to make the outfit, so there’s no way you can go wrong. The video streams to your computer so you don’t need to download nay large files and you can log into any computer to access the videos and doll clothes patterns. If your new to sewing or are an experienced sewer and would like to learn some new techniques don’t forget to check out my How to Make Doll Clothes Video Course.
