Oh My Gosh! I can’t believe just how gorgeous these Cabbage Patch dolls look in their new bikinis made from my Bikini and Tankini Doll Clothes Pattern.
This is the perfect bikini for Cabbage Patch dolls that want style and modesty when at the beach. There are options to make a bikini or tankini top and the pants can be worn with the waistband pulled down into a mini skirt, or higher to reveal the cute little bikini bottoms. Frills feature on both the top and the pants, pulling the whole look together and adding super cuteness to the ‘cossie’ – Aussie slang for swimming costume.
The best thing about the design of this bikini pattern is that as well as a great little swim suit, you also get awesome mix ‘n match pieces for your dolls wardrobe. The tankini top can be worn as a top with jeans or shorts, the bikini top can be made without frills and worn as an adorable bra, or the pants can be worn as a mini skirt and matched with other tops for a casual summer outfit.
As an added bonus, Rosie shows you a great little tip for sewing with stretch fabric so you don’t have to fear sewing with knits anymore!
So get your bikini and tankini doll clothes pattern today and your 18 ½ inch Cabbage Patch Kids® doll could be having fun by the pool this afternoon wearing her gorgeous new cossie…..but don’t forget the sunscreen!
Happy Sewing
Rosie,
How wonderful!
Now girls can have fun WITH their dolls! and look stylish as well!
Rosie will they fit my Sweet 18″ American Girl Doll’s?? As I no longer have any Cabbage Patch Kid’s anymore: (:( Gonna get some soon,.:):) Lol
Hi Lisa, you can get the bikini and tankini pattern in the 18″ American Girl size here.
Hi Rosie, just wondering how much to cut this pattern down to fit 15″ to 16″ cabbage patch doll? All of my granddaughter’s dolls are 15 to 16 inches
Hi Rachel, You may find that you don’t have to alter this pattern at all because if your 15-16″ Cabbage Patch dolls have a similar size torso to my 18 1/2″, the stretch in the fabric will allow for some flexibility in what size dolls can wear this bikini. You may find my blog on ‘Different Size dolls can wear clothes made from the same doll clothes patterns’ helpful.
You can compare the measurements of your dolls with those I have on my Doll Sizing page and then if you still feel you need to reduce the pattern, you may find information in my blog ‘A great tip for resizing your doll clothes sewing patterns’ helpful.
Happy sewing 🙂
