I don’t know about you, but I often find myself looking at a doll clothes pattern or outfit and thinking about ways to alter it so that it suits the fabric or the particular doll better. And when I’m making a doll clothes pattern to release on my website I have to sit down and work out which variations I’m actually going to turn into a pattern. I would love to be able to do them all but there’s a lot of work involved in producing a pattern for sale online and then there are all the videos that go with my patterns, so realistically there’s just not enough time!
It’s for this reason that I decided to make a series of videos that show you just how easy it is to alter a basic doll clothes pattern, in this case my 18 Inch American Girl Summer Dress and Cabbage Patch Summer Dress Doll Clothes Patterns to create over a dozen different outfits for your doll. You can also mix and match these alterations to again create even more different outfits! Really, the variations are only limited by your imagination.
The following video is Part 1 in a 4 Part Series that will be released over the coming months. ‘Sew’ grab a cuppa, press the ‘Play’ button and enjoy.
Hi Rosie, I can’t get it on…it tells me “blocked plug in” I do not understand.. It must have something to do with the flash player. I have printed all your patterns with no problem. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Betty Ann
Hi Betty Ann, it was lovely to speak with you earlier today. As I mentioned, I’m not sure why you are unable to view the video here but I hope you have now managed to view the video on my You Tube channel.
Happy sewing
Rosie 🙂
Hi, Rosie I went on my iPad and did get your video. I think I have to upgrade my laptop. Thanks for the call you made my day. Will keep in touch. Betty Ann
That’s great news, thanks for letting me know Betty Ann 🙂
Great ideas Rosie. Thanks for what looks to be a very useful series of videos.
Rosie, a wonderful video in which you show us great ways to alter one of your existing patterns. Thanks so much for taking the time to create this much appreciated video. Looking forward to the other three.
Thank you so much Rosie, just what I needed, can’t wait for the next in this series! What wonderful ideas.
Rosie, these are such good ideas. Do you leave posts such as this on your web site indefinitely? I know I will want to come back and view it over and over.
Hi Granmommy11, glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, I do leave my blog posts there but I have added a link to this post on my ‘Rosie’s Resources’ page too so you will be able to find it easier from there.
Happy sewing
Rosie
Thank you for your time and instruction Rosie. You make it look too simple!
